What is the most common age group affected by Fifth disease?

Fifth disease, also known as erythema infectiosum, is primarily a viral illness caused by parvovirus B19. The most common age group affected by this condition is preschool and school-age children. The reason this demographic is particularly susceptible is that the virus is easily spread among children in close contact environments such as classrooms and daycare settings.

Children aged 5 to 15 years are most frequently diagnosed with Fifth disease, often presenting with a characteristic "slapped cheek" rash and mild fever.
